Area Rug Repair and Fringe Repair or Replacement

We provide comprehensive area rug repair and fringe repair or replacement at The Binding Shop and Custom Rug Gallery. Damaged rugs are at great risk of becoming even more damaged with wear, including rugs that have damaged fringe, damaged sides, or holes. The structure of the rug should be repaired and reinforced to prevent unraveling and further damage to the rug. We can also provide area rug backing and area rug cushions.

Reducing or Changing Size of Area Rugs

Sometimes we really love a rug, but it just isn’t the right size or shape to suit the needs of the room. In these cases, it is possible to reduce or change the size of the rug to custom fit the area, creating a polished, cohesive look.

Basic Binding, Serging, Cutting, and Seaming

If you would like to turn carpet remnants into an area rug, we provide basic binding, serging cutting and seaming services. Binding secures the edges of the carpet by wrapping a piece of polyester fabric around the edge and sewing, where serging involves wrapping the edges of the carpet with tightly wound thread. Rugs can be cut to custom size, and we also provide seaming service to join two pieces of carpeting.

We provide custom binding, including cotton binding for a customized, finished look. Cotton binding is available in several colors and widths, and can create a completely unique look. Cotton binding is also a good option for fine rugs, as it creates a high value, polished look.
